A private sanctuary where individuals and families find not just treatment, but a genuine path back to themselves.
The first message. The first phone call.
That is often where healing begins.
Many people believe recovery begins when someone enters treatment. At Akari, we have learned that recovery often begins much earlier.
It begins when a parent sends a message.
When a spouse makes a phone call.
When a family member reaches out and says:
"We don't know what to do anymore."
Reaching out for help is often the first step toward recovery — not only for the individual, but also for the family.

Every recovery journey has a story. When this client arrived at Akari, he felt he was close to losing everything important in his life. Through counseling, wellness activities, community support, and daily recovery guidance, he began rebuilding hope, confidence, and a healthier future.
Before returning home, he left a heartfelt message for our team — a reminder that recovery is about more than treatment. It is about rebuilding a life worth living.

For Families
Yuko TsushimaMany recovery journeys begin long before someone enters a program. Often they begin when a family member reaches out and asks for help. At Akari, we believe that first conversation can be the beginning of hope.

Akari provides comprehensive care for alcohol dependency, drug dependency, and mental health challenges. Our holistic approach addresses the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions — not just the presenting condition.
Akari accepts fewer than 15 clients at any one time across our 4,000 sqm private property in Cebu. This is a deliberate choice — it ensures every person receives genuinely individualised care and never feels like just another case.
Yes — and many families do exactly this. You do not need to wait until someone is ready to enter treatment before reaching out. Our team is here to listen and help you understand what options may be available. That first conversation is often where the recovery journey begins.
Confidentiality is a core commitment at Akari. We have clear policies in place to protect the identity and information of every client and family. You can read our full confidentiality commitment on the Client Assurance page.
Akari does not use canned or one-size-fits-all programmes. Care is deeply individualised and built around each person's story, relationships, and goals. Our small intake, private setting, and commitment to ongoing support after graduation set us apart. We do not just treat — we walk beside each person as they rebuild their life.
Recovery does not end on graduation day. Akari offers an Aftercare Programme and Monitoring Programme for continued support. We remain a place clients and families can return to for guidance, reassurance, and honest conversation — long after the programme is complete.
