A mental health check-in is a simple way to pause and pay attention to how you have been doing. You can start by asking yourself these five questions:
1. How have I been sleeping?
Changes in your sleep can sometimes be a sign that something is affecting your overall well-being. Take note of whether you have been getting enough rest or experiencing changes in your usual sleep patterns.
2. How have my energy levels been?
Consider how you have been feeling throughout the day. Notice whether you have been feeling unusually tired, drained, or less motivated than usual.
3. What has been on my mind lately?
Give yourself a moment to recognize the thoughts, concerns, or situations that have been taking up your attention. Understanding what is weighing on you can be an important first step.
4. Have I been staying connected with others?
Supportive relationships can play an important role in our well-being. Think about whether you have been making time for the people you trust and feel comfortable talking to.
5. Have I been giving myself time to recharge?
Rest is important, too. Consider whether you have been allowing yourself enough time to step back, relax, and do things that help you feel refreshed.
A check-in does not require you to have all the answers. It is simply an opportunity to notice how you are doing and recognize when you may need to rest, reach out, or seek additional support. 💚
