Beyond the Internship: Cultivating Empathy and Human Connection

After completing their 20-day internship program at Akari, university students from Bohol presented the team with handwritten letters filled with gratitude, reflection, and personal insights.

Throughout their stay, the interns experienced daily life at Akari, participated in various activities, observed real-world support environments, and learned the importance of empathy, communication, responsibility, and human connection.

Many shared that the experience helped them grow not only professionally, but also personally.
Some wrote about gaining confidence. Others expressed how they learned to better understand people, listen without judgment, and appreciate the value of kindness and presence.

For us, these letters are more than simple feedback.
They are reminders that meaningful experiences leave lasting impact.

At Akari, we believe growth happens through genuine human connection, shared experiences, and environments where people feel seen, valued, and supported.
